New Hawk Carcillo Takes Aim At Canucks

(CBS) They call him the Car Bomb. And the Car Bomb knows he has to win over Blackhawks fans everywhere.
Dan Carcillo is most famous for agitating Blackhawks fans for two games during the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals, when his aggressive play made him an instant villain in Chicago. Now, Carcillo is a member of the Blackhawks, after signing a one-year deal with the team in the off-season, and he's used to the challenge to winning over fan bases.
"I wasn't very liked when I got to Philadelphia. They traded a well-liked player for me," Carcillo said Monday, referring to Scottie Upshall who the Flyers sent to Phoenix in 2009. "Wherever I've played, I try to play the game with emotions. Obviously sometimes my emotions get the best of me. But with time, I've learned to hone it."
Carcillo took a great first step in winning over Hawks fans Monday when he directly took aim at the team's biggest rival: The Vancouver Canucks.
"I'm actually pretty excited to play them because there's a few guys there that I think played a little outside their shoes (against the Blackhawks in the playoffs)," Carcillo said. "I think I can keep most of those guys in-check when we play them this year so I'm pretty excited to play them."
When asked which players in particular he was referring to, Carcillo didn't hesitate to answer. He made it clear he was talking about Maxim Lapierre, Tanner Glass and Raffi Torres.
He'll have to take aim at Glass and Torres in other games, because they moved onto the Winnipeg Jets and Phoenix Coyotes, respectively, this offseason, but Carcillo will get his first chance at Lapierre Nov. 6 at the United Center.
Of course, as he put it, he'll also have to "hone" his emotions.
"The way I play, I'm bound to miss a couple of games," Carcillo said, referring to suspensions. "It's tough to stay out of the princpal's office."
