New details in Orland Park murder probe
CHICAGO (WBBM) - We are learning more about the investigation into the murder of an Orland Park businessman who was abducted from his auto sales company two weeks ago.
It was July 13 when 28-year-old Ibrahim Nofal was abducted in Orland Park. His body was found four days later in a park in Joliet.
The coroner has ruled the death a homicide - but authorities have refused to release the cause of death.
Now the Joliet Police Chief explains why.
"There are unique characteristics to the wounds on the body that only the killer would know, and to reveal those details would cause some concern as far as the direction the investigation is progressing," says Fred Hayes, chief of Joliet Police.
Hayes says investigators have learned that a vast majority of the transactions at Nofal's Lightning Auto business were done in cash - and Hayes says investigators are trying to talk to all of Nofal's clients, business associates and family.
Anyone with information about the abduction or murder of Nofal may call Will County Crimestoppers at 800-323-6734, says Hayes.
