New Bloomingdale's Outlet Store Coming To Schaumburg
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WBBM/CBS) -- You'll soon have your chance if you've never been to a Bloomingdale's outlet store, but as a result, there will be a little more congestion in Schaumburg.
Macy's Inc., which owns both Macy's and Bloomingdale's stores, is set to open a new Bloomingdale's outlet store in Schaumburg this fall.

New Bloomingdale's outlets are set to open in Estero, Fla., near Fort Myers; and in Wrentham, Mass., about 30 miles outside of Boston.
The retailer already has four Bloomingdale's outlets, all of which opened last fall. They are in Paramus, N.J.; Miami; Woodbridge, Va.; and Sunrise, Fla. The outlets offer clothing and accessories.
Macy's took some heat in the Chicago area in 2006, when the company did away with the Marshall Field's name and turned all the Field's stores – including the flagship at 111 N. State St. – into Macy's stores. Fields Fans Chicago, a group protesting the change, remains active nearly five years later.
Bloomingdale's has been in the Chicago market since 1988, when it opened its first downtown store outside of its New York flagship in the now-familiar high-rise at 900 N. Michigan Ave. Bloomingdale's also operates a home and furniture store in the old Medinah Temple at 600 N. Wabash Ave., and operates several suburban stores.
Macy's and Bloomingdale's have been owned by the same parent company since 1949.
