NBA, Players Meet For 15 Hours
NEW YORK (CBS) -- NBA and players' association representatives met for 15 hours Wednesday, and a published report says officials are hoping that a full season can be salvaged.
The New York Daily News reported the meeting went on until 2 a.m. Chicago time Thursday. Officials from both sides tell the newspaper there is a chance that a full 82-game season can be salvaged if a collective bargaining agreement is reached within the coming days.
NBA Commissioner David Stern was quoted in the report that once an agreement is reached, the league will "try to schedule as many games as possible," but the calendar might make it hard to play 82 games.
The Daily News reported on Monday that the NBA would have to cancel at least two more weeks of the season. The first two weeks already have been called off.
