Navigate the Fantasy Landscape of Running Back By Committee
Ten. That's the amount of running backs that are expected to be the feature back in their respective offenses. So if you're competing in a fantasy league with more than ten total teams, you and everyone else in your league might be scrambling to find those coveted running stats. In the ever changing landscape of the NFL, the feature back has quickly become a dying breed. This however, doesn't mean that running back stats are going to be impossible to find, you just need to know where to look.
Jamey Eisenberg, of CBSSports.com, points out that last year only nine running backs in the league had at least 250 carries. The fewest amount since 1993 when only eight running backs hit the 250 carry mark. So beyond guys like Michael Turner, Steven Jackson, Chris Johnson or a few other you're going to have to be creative with your running backs. So among the 22 teams that are using running backs by committee, who should you look to first? Well according to Eisenberg that would be the Carolina Panthers, who will have DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart splitting the carries. That one-two punch, if you had both of them, might be able to net you well over 1,000 yards and over 10 rushing TDs.
