Naperville Man Charged With Repeatedly Molesting Underage Girl
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- A west suburban man is free on bond and awaiting trial after being accused of sexually assaulting a young girl several times over a two-year period.
Anthony J. Biagioli, 61, lives on the 2100 block of Saber Court in Naperville. He faces four felony counts of criminal sexual assault, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court.
Naperville police Sgt. Bill Davis confirmed investigators arrested Biagioli about 6:21 a.m. Friday at his home. He was taken to DuPage County Jail and later released on bond.
Davis said a report against Biagioli was made June 28 "involving possible abuse or sexual assault." That followed Biagioli's alleged molestation of the victim, which occurred "over several months" between approximately May 15, 1999 and May 15, 2001, Davis said.
Police on Friday went to Biagioli's home, where they served a warrant for his arrest and executed a search warrant "for any evidence related to this investigation," Davis said. He declined to say what evidence, if any, was seized.
Davis would say only the alleged victim was a girl under the age of 18. He added Biagioli has committed "no other offenses" in connection with the case.
An examination of court documents revealed Biagioli has no criminal record in DuPage, Kane and Will counties. A preliminary court date of March 25 has been set in the matter.
