Naked Man Celebrating 'Opposite Day' Arrested For Indecency
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Leonard Fodera had his reasons for walking down the street one evening—totally naked.
He told police he was celebrating "Opposite Day" and wanted to break with the custom of wearing traditional items—like pants.
Fodera was arrested by Indianapolis police as he walked in the 800 block of East Lavarock Road in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis around 6:15 p.m. on April 3.
Numerous 911 calls led police to Fodera, who told officers he "just wanted to be free" and declared that it was "Opposite Day," according to a police report.
One of the arresting officers responded: "Fine, in that case, you are NOT going to jail for public indecency."
At no time did Fodera attempt to cover "his genitals or buttocks," according to the report.
Fodera was taken into custody.
Fodera also had the date of the actual "Opposite Day" holiday wrong. It's apparently celebrated on Jan. 25.
