Multiple Victims Shot In Uptown
CHICAGO (STMW) -- At least three men were wounded in a Friday night shooting in the Uptown neighborhood.
The shooting happened outside just before 6 p.m. near North Sheridan Road and West Wilson Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines, citing preliminary information.
The fire department said three men were hospitalized in critical condition. Two of the men were taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston and the third was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Police said paramedics found three people wounded on the scene, but other gunshot victims are showing up at area hospitals and detectives are working to determine if they were wounded in the same incident.
The CTA rerouted the Sheridan (No. 151), Wilson/Michigan Express (No. 145) and Montrose (No. 78) buses in both directions because of police activity.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
