Multiple Car Windows Smashed In Buffalo Grove Condo District
BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (CBS) -- Some car owners on a quiet residential street in Buffalo Grove woke up to discover that someone had busted out their windows.
The five damaged vehicles were all parked on Old Oak Drive, which is fronted by multi-unit buildings with their own private parking lots in the Oak Creek condo development.
The damaged cars were discovered by their owners as they went to their cars Monday morning, according to a Buffalo Grove police report.
The cars were damaged all occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Sunday and about 5:40 a.m. Monday, according to the report.
In three of the cases, either nothing was taken, or it was unclear if anything was taken, after a window was smashed.
One of the damaged cars was discovered by a police officer, who was busy taking the first report of a car with a smashed driver's-side window. Attempts to contact the owner of that second vehicle were unsuccessful, so it was unknown if anything was taken.
In another case, a radar detector was stolen after a front passenger window was smashed and, in another, the window mount for a navigation system was taken after the front passenger window was smashed.
No arrests had been reported as of midday Tuesday.
