Multi-Vehicle Crash Ties Up Outbound Kennedy
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A multi-vehicle crash tied up traffic for miles on the outbound Kennedy Expressway as the morning rush began Thursday.
As CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports, the crash happened in the predawn hours just south of the Addison Street exit. Multiple vehicles were involved, but details of the crash and information about injuries was not immediately available.
The far left lane was reopened by around 6 a.m., after the cars were moved off to the side. But as of 6:15 a.m., traffic was at a virtual standstill as far south as Division Street.
CBS 2's Derrick Young reports traffic on the Kennedy near the accident scene was moving at a near 7 mph.
Although a gapers block might be anticipated, the inbound Kennedy was unaffected by the accident.
