Mullin: With New O Line, Bears Must Run
(WSCR) With new starting left guard Edwin Williams in place, offensive coordinator Mike Martz's play-calling will now become even more important.
Edwin Williams, who made three starts last season, will make his first start in 2011 in place of the injured Chris Williams on the Bears offensive line. One Bears expert said if Martz reverts to his pass-happy self, the Bears could be in trouble.
"They're obviously going to have to run better than (they did against Detroit) if they don't get six turnovers," Comcast Sportsnet's John 'Moon' Mullin told The McNeil and Spiegel Show on Thursday. "It would just be incredibly stupid to go out and just start flinging it. You're going to find out once again he might not be ready, but no one is really ready for that scheme in this line."
