Every CPS student from grades K through 12 who is in class on the first day of school this coming Tuesday will receive a free family pass to the museum.
The pass will cover general admission tickets for up to three adults, children or seniors, but must be used before the end of the school year of June 15.
Students who attended the first day of classes at year-round schools back on Aug. 8 will also receive passes, the museum says.
Last year, about 380,000 students earned passes to the museum for attending the first day of school.
"The Museum is happy to offer these passes again as a sign of ourc commitment to and support of our city's children," MSI president and chief executive officer David Mosena said in a museum news release. "We hope that students bring their families to the Museum so they can spend time together exploring the wonders of science."
