Mr. Dad's Father's Club Holds First Black History Month Community Giveaway In Englewood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The spirit of giving was alive and well in Englewood Thursday.
Joseph Williams' Mr. Dad's Father's Club held its first ever Black History Month Community Giveaway to kick off the year.
They took over a vacant lot at 63rd Street and Ashland Avenue, where volunteers handed more than 1,000 coats, shoes, and boots; more than 50,000 diapers, more than 500 pairs of socks and underwear, and more than 500 children's books.
They also provided hot meals for everyone who showed up.
