Motorists Hospitalized After 2-Vehicle Wreck
CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (STMW) - An SUV and a car collided at an intersection in northwest suburban Crystal Lake Saturday morning.
The crash occurred about 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Virginia Road and Main Street, according to a police and fire dispatcher.
Both drivers suffered minor injures when an SUV and a car crashed in the intersection, causing the SUV the flip over on the shoulder of the road, according to Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Dept. Battalion Chief Robert Kohley.
The SUV driver "self extricated" and was out by the time fire personnel arrived, Kohley said.
The smaller car was impacted on its rear passenger side, and the SUV sustained front end damage.
Kohley said the motorists - a woman and a man - were both transported to Centegra Memorial Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Kohley did not know which direction the vehicles were traveling but said it was sunny at the time of the crash.
