Motorist Shot In Washington Heights
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot while driving a van Thursday night in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.
The man was driving eastbound in the 900 block of West 96th Street about 9:40 p.m. when someone inside a black SUV pulled up next to him and fired shots into the van, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
The 22-year-old motorist crashed the van into a utility pole and realized he had been shot in the right shoulder and buttocks, Mirabelli said.
He was taken in "stable" condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
No one was in custody Friday morning as Area South detectives investigated.
