Motorist Performing Lewd Act Runs Over Pedestrian In Niles
NILES, Ill. (STMW) -- A Niles man told police that he was hit by a car driven by a man who had been exposing himself just seconds earlier.
Niles police said the 34-year-old victim was in a parking lot on the 7200 block of Dempster Street on the afternoon of April 19 when his wife reported a man sitting inside a parked Hyundai appeared to be acting suspiciously.
The victim reported that the occupant was performing a lewd act inside the vehicle, but attempted to cover himself with a piece of clothing before he was discovered, police said.
When the victim knocked on the passenger side window of the car, the driver put the vehicle in reverse, striking the victim and causing him to fall to the ground, police said. The car then reportedly left the parking lot, heading west on Dempster Street.
Police said the victim refused medical attention and was unable to get the vehicle's license plate information.
