There are so many Instagram worthy locations in Chicago that the challenge comes when narrowing down the list to the top 5. When considering the most Instagram worthy locations in the city, it is important to look at all locations, including a number of places that are less well-known. However, highlighted here are the top 5 iconic locations around the city. None of these will come as a surprise to anyone. The reason these 5 locations are iconic is because they've earned the title proudly. Sometimes being a tourist in your own city can be a lot of fun.

The Cloud Gate sculpture is about three stories tall, weighs 110 tons and is constructed from mirror-like highly polished stainless steel. The sculpture, as the official name implies, does a great job of reflecting the clouds in the sky as well as Chicago's skyline. You can find many tourists, and Chicagoans alike, taking reflective pictures in front and underneath. The Cloud Gate is located in Millennium Park on Michigan Avenue between Madison and Washington. Millennium Park is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city.

Wrigley Field (The Friendly Confines) is a neighborhood ballpark located on the north side of Chicago. Wrigley Field was built in 1914. The Cubs played their first game at Wrigley (it was known as Weeghman Park at that time) in 1916. Weegham Park was officially renamed Wrigley Field in 1927. It is now the second oldest ballpark, after Fenway Park in Boston. Everyone knows Wrigley as home to the Chicago Cubs. The ivy-covered outfield walls makes Wrigley one of the most beautiful baseball parks in the world. The exterior of Wrigley Field has now been restored to mimic the look of the 1930's. They have even installed the ornamental steel grill work reminiscent of the 1930's. There are a number of places to take that perfect picture, including the large 'Wrigley Field Home Of Chicago Cubs' sign above the main entrance on the corner of Clark and Addison.

This is perhaps one of the best places in the city to snap the perfect picture of the Chicago skyline. The lake in the foreground and the skyline in the background make for Instagram quality professional looking pictures. Wedding photographers are visible on just about every weekend taking advantage of the views. If it gets too cold, the Shedd Aquarium offers great indoor views of the city.

This is one of the few places where you can take in a 360 degree view of the city and the Lake. In 2009, The Willis Tower installed glass balconies facing west (building elevators prevented the glass balconies from being installed facing other directions). These balconies offer visitor's a clear view straight down. The Ledge (as the glass balcony is named) is made from 1,500 lb glass panels comprised of three layers of ½ inch glass and are designed to hold 10,000 lbs. The views and pictures from the Skydeck and the Ledge are memorable for Instagram photos.

Buckingham Fountain is a gorgeous fountain and screams Chicago. It is one of the largest fountains in the world and benefits from having the incredible Chicago Skyline as its background. It is located between Lake Shore Drive and Columbus Drive at Congress Parkway. The fountain was first opened in 1927 and is now a Chicago landmark. It operates between April and October with water shows and a color-light show in the evenings.  Holiday lights decorate the fountain in the winter months. The skyline and colors make it a beautiful spot for Instagram photos.
