More Than 200 Pounds Of Pot Discovered When Police Respond To Domestic Dispute
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A south suburban man's large marijuana-growing operation was discovered when police responded to a domestic dispute at his home Sunday.
Maurice V. Mance, 45, is charged with production of cannabis, use of a weapon with an altered barrel, possession of cannabis, and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, according to Harvey spokesman Sean Howard.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance at Mance's home in the 15200 block of Honore Avenue on Sunday and noticed an open bedroom door, Howard said.
Officers investigated and found 6-foot marijuana plants in the room, which has a grow lighting system, ventilation system, fans and other equipment used to grow and manufacture cannabis, Howard said.
More than 200 pounds of marijuana was discovered at the home, Howard said.
Mance was scheduled to appear in bond court Wednesday morning in Markham.
