Dr. Jose Augusti was arrested by Valparaiso police last week and now Merrillville police may reopen a case from last year.
In Sep 2011 a physician claimed Agusti asked to meet her to discuss his work with diabetic and bariatric patients, but then forced him to perform oral sex.
Her attorney, Marissa McDermott says the detective looking into the case didn't seem to take it seriously.
"They interviewed my client's boss, they interviewed my client's coworkers, they interviewed other people in my client's life, but they never actually interviewed the accused," said McDermott.
McDermott says police told her career and reputation could be jeopardized by the case and it would be hard to get a conviction so she dropped it, but now wants it reopened.
