Montee Ball Denies TMZ Report That He Was Involved In Fight Before Attack
(CBS) Wisconsin running back Montee Ball denied a TMZ report claiming he was involved in a fight several days before he was attacked on the UW-Madison campus.
The 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist was jumped by five attackers early Wednesday morning and suffered a concussion and facial laceration after being kicked in the head.
TMZ cited law enforcement sources saying they were investigating tips about "a brawl at a UW football player's home roughly one week before Ball was jumped on campus." According to the report, Ball was at the home "and along with some of his teammates, may have participated in beating up a non-football player."
Ball immediately denied the report on Twitter.

According to UW head coach Bret Bielema, Ball will miss a significant amount of training camp because of his injuries.
"I'm fairly confident he won't be with us for the first part of fall camp," Bielema told WISC-TV in Madison. "Hopefully we'll get him back before game week starts up. It should be around that time."
