Montee Ball Attacked By 5 Men On Wisconsin Campus
(WSCR) Heisman hopeful Montee Ball was attacked early Wednesday morning by five unknown assailants on the University of Wisconsin's campus.
According to police reports, Ball was attacked around 2:15 a.m. while walking down the 500 block of University Avenue. Witnesses say the five men jumped Ball and knocked him to the ground before they began kicking him. Ball was taken to the hospital for head injuries. He was later released.
The University is calling the attack an "unprovoked assault."
"My concern right now is for Montee's health and well-being. Montee has been released from the hospital and is under the care and supervision of our sports medicine staff," head coach Brett Bielema said in a statement. "We will continue to evaluate him as we approach the start of fall camp this weekend. I do expect Montee to make a full recovery."
