Momentum Carried Blackhawks To Game 7
CHICAGO (CBS) A year after winning the Stanley Cup a year ago, the Chicago Blackhawks found themselves in a 3-0 hole to the top-seeded Vancouver Canucks.
"Coming off of the third game I think we were all disappointed," Joel Quenneville said.
Chicago may have been disappointed, but they didn't lay down in Game 4. The Blackhawks chased Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo from Games 4 and 5, and gave themselves a chance to send the series back to Vancouver for a deciding Game 7.
Their overtime thriller on Sunday night showcased how important momentum can be in the Stanley Cup playoffs. And the Blackhawks knew exactly that heading into the series-shifting Game 4.
"You get some momentum off of one win and see where it takes you."
