Missing Indiana Man, 85, Found Safe
REMINGTON, Ind. (STMW) -- An 85-year-old Valparaiso man, missing since Sunday, was found Wednesday, confused but otherwise well.
A woman working at a Jasper County KFC, east of Remington at Interstate 65 and U.S. 24, recognized Earl Conway from the description of his blue hat with flaps. She told police he asked for directions to a city in Colorado and mentioned looking for a hotel.
Police then searched area hotels and found Conway at the Sunset Inn nearby.
The Porter County Sheriff's Department learned of the successful search around 9:30 a.m. and immediately began working on reuniting Conway with his daughter. He recently moved from Colorado to live with her in Valparaiso.
Conway had been driving from town to town, paying cash to stay in hotels, he told police.
