Missing 79-Year-Old Aurora Woman Last Seen On Chicago's South Side
AURORA, Ill. (STMW) -- Aurora Police are asking the public for help is locating a missing 79-year-old woman from the west suburb who was last seen on Chicago's South Side.
Lois L. Boyd, of the 0-99 block of South Stolp Avenue in Aurora, was reported missing by her son at about 2 a.m. Friday, after she failed to return home from Chicago, a release from Aurora police said.

Boyd's son told Aurora Police that he had dropped her off at the Aurora Transportation Center, 233 N. Broadway Ave., about 11:45 a.m., Thursday, so that she could visit her daughter who lives in the in the 5800 block of South Sangamon Street in Chicago.
Apparently, Ms. Boyd contacted her son several times during the day to check in. Just before 8 p.m. Thursday, she again called her son -- only this time it was from another person's cell phone. She said her cell phone battery had died, but she was at the bus station at 95th and King Drive and that she planned on taking a CTA bus to Union Station to board a Metra train back to Chicago. Her son told police that when his mother was not on the last train that came into Aurora in the early morning hours of April 6, he contacted police.
Investigators have talked with the person who lent Boyd her cell phone and she confirmed Ms. Boyd's story.
Ms. Boyd is a dark-skinned black woman, stands 5-foot-6-inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. She was last seen wearing a short, dark brown wig, has brown eyes, and is missing some lower and upper teeth. She had on a long black, cloth coat on top of a lime green hooded sweatshirt; light color jeans, and black Reebok gym shoes. She was also carrying a black purse with a shoulder strap.
Although she is not on any medications her family said she may suffer from dementia.
