Mike McQueary Was Penn State's QB In Paterno's Last Win
(CBS) One of the NCAA's sanctions against Penn State Monday morning included the school vacating all wins from 1998-2011.
That means Joe Paterno's last"official" win was a 35-10 victory over Wisconsin in State College Nov. 22, 1997.
Who was Penn State's quarterback in that game?
None other than Mike McQueary.
McQueary, you might remember, was a central figure in the demise of Joe Paterno and the Penn State football program. In 2002, McQueary, a graduate assistant for the football program, witnessed former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky sexually assaulting a young boy in the locker room showers.
McQueary later told Paterno, who discussed the incident with his superiors, leading to one of the biggest cover-ups in the history of college sports.
Oh, the irony...
