Middle School Officials Not Pleased About Nearby Police Sting, Shootout
CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. (CBS) -- A police drug sting in the northwestern suburbs has riled up some parents of children who attend a school located near where the sting took place.
As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, the drug sting was Tuesday in the early afternoon in a the parking lot of a McDonald's at 1660 S. Kennedy Dr. in Carpentersville.

Police say they bought nearly two pounds of cocaine from a couple of suspects, and when they went to make the arrests, one suspect surrendered. But the other suspect, who was still in a car, backed up to try to get away and rammed a police squad car twice.
Police started shooting at the fleeing suspect and blew out his car windows. The driver was also struck by the gunfire.
Bullets flew near Lakewood Middle School, and a school district spokeswoman tells the Daily Herald a small metal fragment – possibly from a bullet – was found near a classroom window. The fragment tore the screen, the newspaper reported.
The suspect's windows were shot out, but he went on to lead police on a chase all the way to Itasca.
Illinois State Police are investigating the shootout in Carpentersville.
One of the suspects, Sentoro Dunn, 40, of Rockford, is being held on $1 million bond. The second suspect remains at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge after being shot, and will be charged after he is released, police tell the Daily Herald.
