Metra Union Pacific North trains halted north of Chicago after train hits vehicle

NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. (CBS) -- Metra Union Pacific North trains were halted near the Great Lakes Naval Station north of Chicago Tuesday evening, after a train hit a vehicle.

Metra reported that inbound and outbound trains were stopped near the Great Lakes stop, after a train struck the vehicle. It was not immediately clear whether this train was a Metra train.

Further details about what happened were not immediately learned.

The duration of the delay was unknown late Tuesday.
