Metra Train Strikes Vehicle Near Palatine
PALATINE, Ill. (STMW) -- A Metra train has been stopped near northwest suburban Palatine Thursday night after striking a vehicle.
Union Pacific Northwest Line Train No.657 was heading to Crystal Lake when the train struck a vehicle at Quentin Road near the Palatine station, according to a Metra service advisory.
The train left Ogilvie Transportation Center at 7:30 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Crystal Lake at 8:55 p.m., Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile said.
Train No.662, which was scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 10:23 p.m., was stopped in Barrington due to the crash. Traffic is being stopped at the location until the accident site is cleared, a service advisory said.
It's unclear whether any injuries were reported. Palatine police could not be reached for comment.
