60-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed By Metra Train In La Grange

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 60-year-old man was fatally struck by a Metra train Saturday in west suburban La Grange.

BNSF train 1309 struck Louis D. Carvelli about 2:30 p.m. as it headed to Aurora near the La Grange Road station, according to Metra and the Cook County medical examiner's office. Carvelli, of Westchester, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy Sunday ruled his death a suicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
