Metra Tinkering With Schedules For Holiday
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Metra is tinkering with its schedules again Thursday, in much the same fashion as last week.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bob Roberts reports, even though New Year's Eve comes Friday, the holiday weekend begins early Thursday for many workers.

As a result, Metra executive director Bill Tupper says the commuter rail line is shuffling its schedules to handle the anticipated earlier crowd.
"All lines except the Heritage Corridor will have extra trains in the early afternoon to serve passengers leaving the city early for the holiday weekend," Tupper said.
Metra will run trains early again on Thursday, since some businesses will be open half days.
On Thursday, riders must use their regular tickets. But from Friday through Sunday, the cheapest way to ride Metra without a monthly pass is to buy a flat-rate, $7 weekend pass. One ticket will buy unlimited rides from Friday through Sunday.
