Metra Juggles Schedules For New Year's
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Metra is juggling its schedules again Friday to accommodate both workers heading home early and revelers tonight.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bob Roberts explains, many businesses are closing early for New Year's Eve Friday, if they're even open at all. Because of that, Metra has altered its afternoon schedules.

"All lines except the Heritage Corridor will have extra trains in the early afternoon to serve passengers leaving the city early for the holiday weekend," said Metra executive director Bill Tupper.
On Friday night, Metra will accommodate revelers until 1:15 a.m. on seven of its lines – the Union Pacific North, Northwest and West lines, the Milwaukee District North and West lines, the BNSF and the Rock Island District.
Also, rides on Metra are extra-cheap in the coming days, if you pick up Metra's $7 flat-rate weekend pass. You can use it through Sunday for unlimited rides.
