Merrillville Man Charged With Attempted Armed Robbery
CROWN POINT, Ind.(STMW) -- A man was charged after an attempted armed robbery in Hammond in September, the Post-Tribune is reporting.
Deandre Deshon Brown, 21, of the 2900 block of West 75th Lane, was charged in a Sept. 21 attempted robbery of a man selling sweet corn from a cart on the street at 2706 165th St., Hammond. The victim told police a man walked up and asked for change, then pulled out what appeared to be a black handgun and demanded money. The man said he didn't give the gunman any money, but ran into a nearby store and called police.
Brown admitted he pulled out a BB gun and demanded money, the probable cause affidavit states.
