Mega Millions Rolls Over, Jackpot At $127M
CHICAGO (STMW) - It's been more than a month since anyone playing the Mega Millions has matched all the numbers drawn, to collect the multi-state lottery's grand prize and that didn't change Friday night, though a couple area players came close.
The estimated grand prize for Friday night's drawing was $108 million. The winning numbers were: 16 - 29 - 48 - 52 and 54, and the Mega Ball number was 05. Friday's jackpot was the first Mega Millions prize this year that exceeded $100 million.
While no one matched all the numbers drawn, two Illinois players matched five of the first five numbers, according to the Illinois Lottery.
One of these tickets was sold at the 7-Eleven at 5789 N. Milwaukee Ave. on the Northwest Side, and the other was sold at a gas station at 2 E. Lake St. in Northlake. Each of these two players will receive $250,000.
The last winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket was sold on Jan. 24, in Georgia, according to the Illinois Lottery. That jackpot was $72 million.
The next Mega Millions drawing, with a jackpot of $127 million, will be held on Tuesday.
