Meet-The-Candidates Wednesday, At Least Some Of Them
The public will have the chance to hear from six of the 20 candidates for mayor of Chicago on Wednesday.
CHICAGO (AP/WBBM) - Some of the candidates running to be Chicago's next mayor are meeting in a public forum.
Six of the 20 candidates who filed nominating petitions were scheduled to participate in Wednesday's forum at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The public forum takes place at 3:30 p.m., Student Center East, Illinois Room, 750 S. Halsted St.
The university says the forum will help voters learn more about some of the people who want to replace the retiring Mayor Richard Daley.
Candidates expected to attend are pastor Wilfredo De Jesus, Chicago City Clerk Miguel del Valle, Ryan Graves, Jay Stone, Patricia Van Pelt-Watkins and William ``Dock'' Walls III.
Other candidates running for mayor who are not expected to attend include former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, former U.S. Sen., Carol Moseley Braun and former Chicago school board president Gery Chico.
