Mediator Brought In To Help Settle Grayslake Teachers' Strike
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Striking teachers in Grayslake Elementary District 46 and representatives of the school board are scheduled to meet with a federal mediator on Thursday.
The two sides met for eight hours Tuesday night, before teachers walked off the job yesterday morning.
More than 300 teachers had been working without a contract since last July 1.
Meanwhile, teachers in West Chicago District 33 have voted to set a strike date.
They've been working without a contract for more than a year.
The school board announced last week that it will impose its version of a contract on Feb. 21.
