McKnight: Scott Expects More Time On Ice, And In Penatly Box
By Connor McKnight--
The Blackhawks are set to host the St. Louis Blues tonight and John Scott knows he could see some increased time on the ice... or in the penalty box. "You look at the lineup and you look at the team you're playing against. So, St. Louis, they're known for ten fights a game sometimes. You know what you're getting yourself into, you prepare a little differently, you watch out for your teammates a little more."
While Saturday night's game against the Sabres was chippy and full of penalties, Monday night's game against the Blues will has a chance to be the most physical game of the year so far.
Scott will see more ice time than usual Monday for reasons beyond his 6'8'' 258 lbs. frame. Scott is being shifted back and forth between forward and defenceman. There's also been a hole opened up as 19 year-old Nick Leddy was sent down to Rockford, Sunday.
"I think we want to make sure that he gets a lot of ice-time. We want to see him play in all situations. ... There's still a possibility that he could be back here at any moment's time. We want him to continue to develop and play," Joel Quenneville said after Monday morning's skate.
--Patrick Kane flew his mother to Chicago to help him get healthy during a recent bout of illness that kept him out of an October 11th game against Buffalo.
--Brian Campbell is still on the original rehab track the Hawks had put him on when he sprained his knee in the preseason. Campbell isn't skating yet, but Coach Q says he's "close."
--Marty Turco will start in net Monday night.
