McIlroy In Tie For Lead; Woods 1 Behind At BMW Championship
CARMEL, Ind. (AP) — Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy seem to be spending a lot of time together these days. That included the top of the leaderboard Thursday in the BMW Championship.
McIlroy was dialed in with his irons and birdied his last two holes for an 8-under 64 that got him into a four-way tie for the lead at Crooked Stick. Woods chipped in from 30 feet for birdie on his last hole and was one shot behind at 65. They made it look easy, and Crooked Stick was every bit of that because of heavy rains earlier in the week.
Indiana native Bo Van Pelt, U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson and Graham DeLaet of Canada also were at 64. Crooked Stick was so vulnerable that all but five holes played under par.
