McHenry County Girls Raise Money For Child Caught In Hot Car
(CBS) – A 4-year-old McHenry County girl is on the road to recovery after she was found unconscious last month in her family's vehicle.
With costly medical bills, another group of young girls is stepping in.
CBS 2's Charlie De Mar introduces us to the Lemonade Brigade.
One cup at a time, this army of girls known is pouring full servings of sweetness.
Thursday, their proceeds were going to another young girl in need.
Four-year-old Liezl was found unconscious in her family's vehicle last month, left alone for about 15 minutes on a sweltering day. Police say the little girl went into the vehicle because she wanted to see her grandmother.
"You can't imagine what it's like to have something you don't expect at all happen to you, and it just turns your life so completely upside down," the family member says.
The Lemonade Brigade raised just over $2,000 for the family on Thursday.
