McHenry County Fugitive Arrested In Florida
DESTIN, Fla. (STMW) -- A man listed on McHenry County's Top Ten wanted website was arrested early Monday in Florida, according to police.
Cecil T. Barnes, 31, was wanted by the McHenry County sheriff's office on a narcotics warrant for unlawful possession and delivery of a controlled substance. He also had a warrant issued for failure to appear in court for traffic violations.
Carpentersville police had also issued a felony arrest warrant for Barnes charging him with the manufacture and/or delivery of cocaine in close proximity to a school, a statement from the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office obtained an arrest warrant for Barnes on Feb. 17, 2012, and learned that he'd fled the area. Barnes was than placed on the Top Ten website.
Acting on a lead from the sheriff's office and U.S. Marshals, the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Barnes at 6 a.m. Monday at his home in Destin, Fla., the sheriff's office said.
Barnes was taken to the Okaloosa County Jail and is awaiting extradition.
