McGuire: Blackhawks Need More Emotion
The Chicago Blackhawks will play game number 60 on Monday. And with the games dwindling, they'll have to quickly leap frog three teams to make the playoffs.
While that's not an impossible task, by no means will it be easy. And the biggest obstacle for the team heading down the stretch, according to one analyst, might not be talent, depth or chemistry.
"I think the biggest concern right now is that there doesn't seem to be a lot of emotion," Pierre McGuire, NBC and Versus analyst, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "There doesn't seem to be a lot of second and third efforts. Yes, you have the offense on the one line with [Patrick] Sharp and with [Patrick] Kane and with [Jonathan] Toews. I think Jonathan Toews is getting a little frustrated. It's just not going the way the way they envisioned this going at the beginning of the year.

"Obviously, you change over half the roster there's going to be some chemistry issues, but nonetheless you'd like to see a little more umph. You'd like to see a little more urgency. You'd like to see a little more consistency with that urgency. It doesn't seem to be happening. This is going to be a really tough battle for this team to make the playoffs."
On Monday, the Blackhawks play the St. Louis Blues at 1:00PM in St. Louis. Both teams are desperately trying to fight their way up the standings.
