Matt Forte Questionable For Potential Final Bears Game
By Chris Emma--
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) -- It remains to be seen whether Sunday brings the final game as a Bear for Matt Forte, but now his status for the contest is uncertain.
Forte worked in a limited role in Friday's final full practice of the season and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game with the Lions due to a back injury suffered in the Bears' win over the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay last week.
On Thursday, Forte spoke of optimism for his status in Sunday's game. With an expiring contract ahead and uncertainty about being renewed with the Bears, Forte expressed his sentiments for eight years in Chicago.
"I've enjoyed my time here," Forte said. "I've been blessed to play as long as I have played here – for the last eight years, I've been blessed."
If Forte is forced to miss Sunday's game, rookie running back Jeremy Langford and second-year back Ka'Deem Carey would largely fill the void. Langford has assumed the majority of carries in recent weeks.
The Bears' injury report Friday was a lengthy one, with 12 players being listed. Both Eddie Royal and Hroniss Grasu are doubtful to play, while Zach Miller, Jarvis Jenkins, Mitch Unrein, Shea McClellin, Pernell McPhee, Willie Young, Adrian Amos, Bryce Callahan and Tracy Porter are all questionable.
Kickoff between the Bears (6-9) and Lions (6-9) comes at noon on Sunday.
