Masked Gunman Robs Far South Side Bank
CHICAGO (STMW) - A masked gunman robbed an East Chicago bank branch Monday afternoon on the Far South Side.
The man entered the bank in the 3500 block of East 106th Street with a handgun about 2:35 p.m. Monday and demanded money, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
Surveillance photos indicate the man entered the U.S. Bank branch and pointed a gun at an employee. He was wearing a dark hooded-sweatshirt, a dark knit hat and a dark mask.
The robber is described as a 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 Hispanic man, according to the FBI.
Anyone with information about the takeover robbery is asked to call the FBI at (312) 421-6700. A reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
