Martz To Join Fox TV As NFL Game Analyst
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Former Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz is moving to the broadcast arena, as an analyst for NFL football games on Fox television.
Fox announced that Martz and play-by-lay announcer Ron Pitts will begin at Fox on Sunday, Sept. 9, when the Carolina Panthers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Martz was credited as the mastermind behind the record-setting offense that propelled the St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl victory in 1999.
Martz then worked as an analyst for the NFL Network, before joining the Bears as offensive coordinator just before the 2010 season.
In Martz's first season with Chicago, the Bears finished 30th in the league in offense. During his second season, the offense made strides, but fell apart when Jay Cutler went down with a thumb injury.
Martz resigned this past January.
