'Hard Work Paid Off' For Martez Wilson At Combine
Martez Wilson is among three former Fighting Illini players expected to be taken high in the NFL Draft. Unlike his former teammates Mikel Leshoure and Corey Liuget, Wilson needed a big combine to solidify himself in the NFL Draft.
"It was very important," Wilson said of his combine performance on the Mully and Hanley Show. "Just to show everybody what I was capable of doing and how hard I've been working these past two months, doing two-a-days since January. And finally all the hard work was able to be shown."

Wilson ran the fastest 40-yard dash of all the linebacker prospects and ranked in the 10 ten positionally in six categories. It still isn't sure just where Wilson will be selected, but his combine performance definitely moved him up some draft boards.
"All the hard work paid off," Wilson said. "Everything I've been preparing for, I've done in practice, so I felt very confident coming in to the combine."
