Marshall Takes Parting Shot At Dolphins QB
(WSCR) Let's just say Brandon Marshall is happy Jay Cutler is his new quarterback.
Marshall spent 2010 and 2011 in Miami with quarterbacks Chad Henne and Matt Moore, and apparently, he wasn't too thrilled with the quarterback play. The at-time controversial wide receiver recently joined 740 The Game in Orlando to discuss the trade that sent him to Chicago. Marshall had some interesting things to say about the quarterback situation facing Miami.
"It doesn't make any sense to pay a guy $2 million and only expect him to have 60 or 65 receptions, or 70 receptions in this new offense," Marshall said. "Also, if you don't have a quarterback it doesn't matter who you have out there. You can bring Jerry Rice back in his prime and he's not going to be effective. It makes sense on the business end, and also the fit as far as philosophywise just wasn't there. I can understand the change, and honestly this is the best move that could have happened for both sides."
Last season, Marshall was the Dolphins leading scorer with 81 receptions, 1,214 yards and six touchdowns.
