Mariano's Hiring Staff For New Stores; Job Fairs This Week
CHICAGO (CBS) -- As the Mariano's grocery store chain expands in Chicago, its parent company says it plans to hire 2,500 workers to staff its new stores.
Roundy's will be hosting a job fair on Thursday at the Crown Plaza Chicago Metro hotel, 733 W. Madison, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Mariano's is acquiring 11 Dominick's locations, which are closing at the end of the year.
Roundy's will also be holding two other job fairs this week--at the DoubleTree Hotel, 9599 Skokie Blvd., in Skokie on Friday (9 a.m.-6 p.m.) and the Chicago Marriott, 1200 Burr Ridge Pkwy., in Burr Ridge (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) on Saturday.
Currently, Roundy's is recruiting for five of the newly acquired stores--Northfield, Park Ridge, Western Springs and two in Chicago (Chicago Avenue and Sheridan Avenue)--along with its current locations.
Roundy's estimates that there are approximately 250 job positions for each of the newly acquired stores.
