Marc Trestman Will Return As Ravens Offensive Coordinator
(CBS) Speculation about the future of offensive coordinator Marc Trestman in Baltimore came to a close with the former Bears coach receiving a vote of confidence from Ravens coach John Harbaugh.
The Ravens offense finished 25th in the league during Trestman's first year as offensive coordinator, and the team finished 5-11.
"No changes to the coaching staff," Harbaugh told the team's official site. "Certainly changes in how we do things and how we approach things and schemes and things like that. We're going to work on that already. But the same guys will be in place, and I'm excited to work with our guys."
Trestman's offense was shorthanded when quarterback Joe Flacco suffered a season-ending injury and missed the final six games of the season. The Ravens' 5-11 record is identical to his second and final year in Chicago.
The Bears fired Trestman at the conclusion of a 2014 season marred with dysfunction. He immediately became a candidate for assistant roles, with Harbaugh landing Trestman as offensive coordinator.
Despite starting four different quarterbacks this season, including former Bears quarterback Jimmy Clausen, the Ravens set a franchise record in passing yards with 4,271.
At 5-11, the Ravens had their worst record since 2007, the season before Harbaugh took over.
