Manzullo Calls For End To SuperPACs
CHICAGO (CBS) -- U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Ill.) is calling for an end to SuperPACs, the powerful political groups that pump large amounts of money into campaigns across the country.
As WBBM Newsradio Political Editor Craig Dellimore reports Manzullo's is not taking the stand just because a SuperPAC helped put him out of a job.

Thanks to Democratic-controlled redistricting, the 10-term veteran Manzullo was forced into a primary fight in his 16th Congressional District, which stretches from the northwest corner of Illinois east to Crystal Lake. Manzullo lost the GOP primary to fellow conservative Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.)
Manzullo partly blames the ads run by outside political groups, saying he wasn't a true conservative.
"I was endorsed by 14 conservative organizations, including all the Tea Parties," Manzullo said. "And I cannot understand why somebody outside the State of Illinois was allowed to put in hundreds of thousands of dollars into a SuperPAC, when people who lived in my district, who did not appreciate SuperPACs were limited to put in $25,000 a piece."
Manzullo says political groups across the country and across the political spectrum are letting a handful of millionaires decide elections.
"America is under assault by these SuperPACs," he said.
