In recent years, there has been a trend of stores opening earlier and earlier on Thanksgiving, to get ahead on Black Friday sales. But some stores are moving to put a stop to that by being closed Thanksgiving, and some even on Black Friday, for employees to enjoy their holiday.

If you still want to shop on Thanksgiving, big stores like Walmart, Target, Kohl's, Target, and Sears will be open, due to the massive profit potential.
There is also the option of shopping online.
Even the stores closed on Thanksgiving, may offer online sales. More and more doorbusters are being offered online, so shoppers can receive the same savings online, rather than having to run out to storefront locations.
