Manteno Warehouse Shooting Suspect's Car Found On Southwest Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The car belonging to a man wanted for shooting a co-worker at a warehouse in downstate Manteno has been found in Chicago's Gage Park neighborhood.
The Kankakee County Sheriff's Office found the 2010 black Chrysler 3000 with tinted windows, and Illinois license plate L699896, at 53rd Street and Sacramento Avenue. The car was the one that Rene Flores, of rural Kankakee, used to flee after allegedly shooting a co-worker this past Wednesday at a Mars candy warehouse at 1125 W. Sycamore Rd. in Manteno.
But police did not find Flores in the area. The sheriff's office and Major Crimes Task Force, along with the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, continue to search for Flores.
Kankakee County Crime Stoppers are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to Flores' arrest. Anyone with information should call 815-93-CRIME (815-932-7463), and all callers remain anonymous.
The condition of the shooting victim was not known Friday afternoon.
